You can wait and find some new players and get the achievements, and experience the MP mode, but it's already at the point where it's probably hard to find matches sometimes. Got the streak, got a 100% NM run, and did just about everything, and won UNM difficulty after. Why? The multiplayer mode is the only reason I wanted to play, but it's thinning out already. Originally posted by leg the joyful:yes, unless you really want achievements. I think it was highly worth it but noting the value will go down over time. But, moving forward at this time, I would wait for sale or other, just for reason the multiplayer numbers are probably dwindling already. difficulty and secrets will keep you busy if you want to spend extra time getting 100% and learning everything. there's a robot that tells you not to blow up mars with a giant cannon. an autistic demon dangles some creature he's creating infront of you as you progress through his autism puzzles, and then you must fight it. if not you can just buy it at discount there and play thru it. If you're a completionist you get way more in-game achievements and can get secrets/everything on Bethesda for about 45$ right now. I only bought to basically have fun with re-learning/re-using my old skillset, and challenge myself in the MP mode at the start while most people were probably playing.įor 60$ you will get singleplayer and maybe steam achievements. Many players can't hit rail shots and this game lets you do rockets, rails, and basically lots of things. Either way you can play the mode but it's going to get increasingly hard to get a match going, and the mode itself is pretty small. Last week I tried a match, I waited 10 minutes, got a lvl 100 guy who refused to start game (probably cares too much), then a set of complete noobs that weren't a challenge. In the coming week it's probably declined more in numbers. The time of slayer stomping the lag-jews and the laggy terriyaki tryhards that team up on demon team and try to win them all w/ lag and other tactics is probably close expiring. Why? The multiplayer mode is the only reason I had bought, but players thinning out already. Yes, unless you really want achievements or want to simply try the multiplayer. ![]() who cares at that point? If this was an MMO then maybe i could get behind that logic, but saying not to buy it because of a bad community and new features that add some debatably interesting challenges beyond just shooting. ESPECIALLY when Doom's emphasis is single-player. You should never tell someone to NOT buy a game just because you dont approve of the community that it is a part of. Honestly though, Eternal kinda feels like Metroid Prime games, with its platforming, light puzzle-solving, etc, yet with a heavy and powerful FPS like. Yea its not exactly like the older games.īut Final Fantasy, Metroid, COD, and tons of other long-running franchises have all changed a ton over the years too, trying and adopting new mechanics as they went.Īnd frankly, these newer Doom games do still follow the old formula, just altered and changed for the new technology we have to go with it. ![]() As someone who has never personally PLAYED the older Doom games (but have watched plenty), and only have a small amount of hours on the newer Doom and Doom:Eternal. they're a bunch of virgin nerds that hide behind computer screens and act like complete d bags cuz they're lonely sad individuals. The DOOM fanboys that lurk in these posts will act like its the greatest thing ever made and get mad even if u dislike the smallest thing about the game. Honest to god, I would just say not to buy the game at all.
